A new report has revealed the most sought after roles.
More than seven in ten information and communication businesses in the midlands have "critical vacancies."
That's one of the findings in the Midlands ICT Cluster Skills Survey Report.
Some of the top areas for such vacancies included in technical support, cyber-security and data analysis.
Regional Skills Forum Manager for the Midlands, John Costello, says all sectors in the economy are having issues with filling vacancies:
The information and communication technology sector expects to create up to 800 jobs in the midlands by 2026.
The latest Midlands ICT Cluster Skills Survey Report shows there are already 3,000 people employed in the industry in the region.
Cloud computing, software development and data analytics are among the most sought after roles.
