A Westmeath and a Laois team will be taking part in the contest.
Two midlands teams will be competing in the National Bowls Competition this week, organised by Active retirement Ireland.
The group is calling on the next Government to provide greater supports to the ageing population around the country, including reducing isolation and enhancing social inclusion.
BMB Bowls from Bun Brosna, Multyfarnham and Ballinafid as well as the Portlaoise Bowls team will be taking part in this week's contest, with the finals taking place on Thursday.
This is the twelfth edition of the competition, with 44 teams from nationwide taking part.
CEO of Active Retirement Ireland says "The next programme for government must include clear polices to embed a positive ageing framework in Ireland, and that recognise older people as active contributors to society who should be supported to maintain strong social connections and to age well."
