Over 9,300 people in general had to wait over a day to be seen.
Almost 170 people aged 75 or and older were left waiting over 24 hours in emergency departments in the midlands, so far this year.
The figures from the HSE, show nationally, there were 9,339 people that had to wait over one day to be seen.
The Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar had the highest figure in the region at 146 patients.
In Portlaoise there were 17 cases, while only six had to wait that long in Tullamore - which sees 99.8% of all patients in less than 24 hours.
While, Mullingar has a rate of 97 per cent and its 99% in Portlaoise.
