A Laois woman is campaigning to make her town safer for pedestrians.
Faith Quille wants the local authority to extend a public path between Mountmellick and the Rock GAA club, as parents and their children have to walk on an overgrown ditch to get to school or the GAA grounds.
Over 400 people have signed her online petition.
She says students at the Rock National School have been writing to the county council about the issue for years:
