Portarlington's Michelle O'Neill, originally from New Jersey, applied for a TV show about American ex-pats living in Ireland, but instead received a call from a producer on "The Floor" gameshow.
The prize pot is $250,000 and the aim is for each contestant to stand on a tile and get as many tiles from other players, while going head to head with them on a subject and the winner gets the square.
