The plans will see nearly 200 new homes delivered in the county.
A massive housing development in Laois has been given the green light.
Laois County Council originally granted planning permission for 195 residential units on the Dublin Road in Ballyroan, but that decision was appealed to An Bord Pleanála.
The plans include the demolition and site clearance of a disused farm, and four existing buildings in the area,
It will also see the provision of a new créche, and two ESB kiosks.
The planning application with Laois County Council received nearly 20 submissions, which included concerns the project would impede the privacy of nearby residents, and impact existing traffic levels.
An Bord Pleanala has concluded the development would not damage the visual amenity of the area or nearby property.
It has granted planning permission subject to 27 conditions, which include a number of changes to pedestrian and cycle access to the site.
