Over 144,000 applications have been denied since 2015, with around 37,600 of those overturned on appeal in figures obtained by Aontú leader and Meath West TD Peadar Tóibín.
He's calling for an internal audit from the Department of Social Protection into how many rightful appeals have been initially been turned down.
