The return of the night-time economy has been identified as one of the drivers behind the rise.
A jump in assault and harassment offences in Laois has been attributed to a return to the night-time economy after Covid.
The latest Joint Policing Committee has found crimes against the person has increased by 15 percent in the fourth quarter of 2022, compared to the same period the year prior.
Assault causing harm is up by six to 38, while minor assaults are also up, from 64 to 70.
There were seven cases of menacing cases at the end of last year, that's an increase of four compared to the fourth quarter of 2021.
Harassment cases are also up, from one to three.
