However, a number of midlands Garda Stations saw a significant decrease in crime rates.
Athlone saw its highest level of crime in a decade and a half last year.
Analysis by the Irish Independent has found there were 2,011 offences recorded by Gardaí in 2023, up nearly a third on 2022's figure.
Clonaslee Garda Station has also seen crime rates nearly double between 2019 and 2023, with recorded offences rising from 17 to 31.
Offences in Mullingar plummeted during the same period, falling from 2,500 to 1,700, while Edenderry and Tullamore Garda Stations have also seen significant decreases.
Around the country, 76 stations saw their highest level of crime in a decade.
