A former Office of Public Works Minister believes the controversial Leinster House bike shelter didn't need to be built in the first place.
Officials from the OPW have been asked to appear before the Public Accounts Committee next month in relation to the facility.
The money spent on the shelter has caused outrage, after it was revealed it cost the tax payer €336,000.
