The celebration of nature runs until the end of next weekend.
Today marks the start of Biodiversity week across the Midlands.
Biodiversity week is running from Friday May 17th to Sunday May 26th.
This is an annual national celebration of nature, with a range of family friendly and free events throughout the week from bat walks to nature trails.
Events will take place from today across Offaly, Westmeath and Laois.
Ricky Whelan, Biodiversity Officer with Offaly County Council, says, "Biodiversity Week gives us a great opportunity to celebrate and showcase Offaly’s native flora and fauna."
