Planning permission has been granted for infrastructure's in Birr such as the northern distributer, which will link the Tullamore road to the Banagher road diverting traffic from building up in the town centre.
Works are in place around the town on cycle lanes, public lighting and a single light junction to help the northern part of the town to divert traffic away from the schools
John Mitchell, District Engineer, Offaly County Council says these works will create a nicer space in the town:
