It's for an initial period of 10 years.
Bord na Móna has lodged an application to build a renewable gas facility in County Laois.
The licence sought for the development from the Environmental Protection Agency is for an initial period of 10 years.
The proposed facility would be built in the Clonboyne area of Portlaoise over 17 hectares.
It's expected the plant will treat 80,000 tonnes of non-hazardous material such as farm slurry per year, turning it into natural gas.
The project includes four major developments - the treatment plant, an administration office along with external and internal upgrades to roads in the surrounding area to allow access to the site.
Bord na Móna say it will create between 8 and 10 long term jobs once the project is completed.
A decision is due on the application on 13th November 2019.
