It's under development on bogland in the east Offaly and northwest Kildare area.
Bord na Móna is inviting feedback from the public on its draft plans for the Ballydermot Wind Farm.
The proposed development includes 50 turbines with an overall blade tip height of 220 metres, and will occupy about five per cent of the the company's 14,000 hectares of bogland in the east Offaly and northwest Kildare area.
The project is poised to deliver 150-200 jobs during construction, along with a number of long-term technical jobs in operations and maintenance once complete.
Bord na Móna says an annual Community Benefit Fund will also be set up once the wind farm is operational.
The project team has updated the Ballydermot Wind Farm 'Virtual Consultation Room’ that was launched last October as part of the Communication Tools for the project.
Through that, the local community can view information on the proposed development, maps of the proposed development and submit feedback to the Project Team.
The company encourages members of the local community who wish to submit feedback on the proposed development, to please do so by Monday 30th August via the online questionnaire at ballydermotwindfarm.ie, by email to ballydermotwindfarm@bnm.ie or by post to Ballydermot Wind Farm, Bord na Móna, Main Street, Newbridge, Co. Kildare W12 XR59.
Subject to COVID-19 restrictions, the company also intends to hold Community Engagement Clinics in the locality in July and August.
