The Irish food chain received 128 kg of hormone-treated Brazilian beef last year.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland is confirming 128 kilogrammes of Brazilian beef treated with a carcinogenic hormone entered the Irish food chain last year.
The FSAI is confirming to the Irish Farmers Journal they had been notified last month of the batch entering Ireland from the North in September 2025.
The batch had been distributed to three businesses and is believed to no longer be in the supply system.
The revelation comes ahead of Cabinet deciding their stance on the Mersocur deal ahead of a final vote on Friday, and a national protest planned for Athlone the following day.
