That's according to Westmeath Fianna Fáil Councillor Ken Glynn who is calling for the filter lane to be reinstated at the McDonald's Junction in Mullingar.
Originally the roundabout was replaced with traffic lights in 2019, creating a bottleneck throughout the town.
After eight years of ongoing frustration and congestion, Westmeath County Council are awaiting proposals for a solution.
