Labour's Marie Tuohy wants the HSE to establish protocols for out of hours services after she struggled to secure herself an appointment when she needed care.
She says other people have relayed similar experiences to her in recent months as well.
It comes at a time when Midlands hospitals are asking patients with non-urgent conditions to use alternative services, and she says clarity is needed:
