Some alternative ideas have been mooted for a new purpose for the site.
It's a no-brainer for Offaly County Council to procure the soon to be vacant Bank of Ireland site in Clara.
That's according to local Fianna Fáil rep Frank Moran who believes it's perfectly suited for a remote working hub.
The idea was mooted a number of weeks ago by the town's community council.
