50 pets have been housed by the NSPCA over the previous 12 months.
Campaigners against domestic violence are asking the Government to protect victims from coercive control through pet abuse.
Since partnering with Sonas Domestic Violence Charity, the NSPCA has housed 50 pets in the last 12 months while women and children access refuge support.
Sonas is calling for a reform similar to the UK's Ruby's Law which has progressed to the Bill stage of the UK Parliament.
