CCTV Planned Across Offaly To Combat Illegal Dumping

Litter fines are also set to be increased this September.

Offaly County Council is planning to install CCTV at a number of locations as part of efforts to deter illegal dumping.

This comes as a range of new measures to support cleaner communities, including a €250,000 fund for local authorities, is being unveiled today.

The package announced by Minister of State with responsibility for the Circular Economy Alan Dillon, will see an increase to litter fines, from €150 to €250, which will take effect on 1st September.

€80,000 is being supplied to Offaly in order to tackle illegal dumping for CCTV.
