A century-old business in Westmeath is shutting its doors.
Marie Grenham has announced the decision to retire, which will see the closure of Grenham Travel in Athlone.
The business has been operating for 112 years, with Ms. Grenham being the third generation of the family to run the company.
Her grandfather John first started Grenham Travel in 1911, and booked passengers on the Titantic among his first customers.
The business will close its doors for the last time on December 31st to facilitate existing customers and orders, however, it won't be taking on any new bookings.
In a statement to Midlands 103, Marie Grenham is thanking everyone for their support since she took over in 1999:
"We have had fantastic repeat customers, many are generations of the same families trusting us with their holiday choices and travel plans throughout their lives.
Grenham Travel has been more than a business to me, it has been a true pleasure and privilege to engage and build relationships with customers on a personal and professional level - sharing key moments in their lives both happy and sad.
I would also like to acknowledge the incredible team members, past and present, who have worked with Grenham Travel over the years and the role they have played in making the agency such a great success.

Ms. Grenham says it wasn't a decision she took lightly:
