Westmeath man Archbishop Dermot Farrell has been thanking people for their generosity.
Churchgoers on the island of Ireland have raised over €3 million for the people of Ukraine since the war began.
Special collections were held in Catholic churches throughout Ireland on the 26th and 27th of March.
In a statement, Archbishop Eamon Martin of Armagh and Archbishop Dermot Farrell of Dublin, who hails from Westmeath, paid tribute to the generosity of parishioners.
All donations will be sent to the international agency Caritas Internationalis to support charitable projects in the war torn country.
