The company behind a proposed anaerobic digester in Offaly is assuring the local community that it's safe.
The development has been facing local opposition, regarding the increase in heavy good vehicles on the roads and any smell omitted from the plant, which turns feedstock from farmers into biogass.
Spokesperson for Strategic Power, Paul Carson, says the gas is produced in fully sealed tanks and injected immediately into Ireland's gas network, meaning there's no odour in the open air.
