Westmeath councillors have been left in the dark when it comes to Athlone becoming a green city.
That's according to Councillor Frankie Keena as plans by the Ballymore Group to transform the town into a green city of 100,000 by 2040 have sparked skepticism.
He believes there's been a lack of transparency, as elected members were left out of key discussions.
The Ballymore masterplan includes 20,000 zero-carbon homes and a major TUS campus expansion.
