Confusion is reigning over the Fair Deal according to Sinn Fein.

The HSE and Private Nursing Homes are in dispute over top up charges for medical card holding residents.

The HSE believe provision for items such as wound dressings, incontinence pads and physiotherapy are covered in the deal while private nursing homes disagree.

It's emerged residents are being charged for these items and Laois Offaly TD Brian Stanley says the wording of the original agreement may be to blame:
