The start of construction on a new Laois special school is getting closer.
Kolbe Special School in Portlaoise will be issuing a Letter of Acceptance to builders this week to commence development on the new building.
From then, construction will start within a period of 20 days.
Parents and staff at the school have been campaigning for the new building, which has been faced with numerous delays, for decades.
