484 people are in hospital with the virus.
1,578 new cases of Covid-19 have been detected in Ireland.
The Department of Health says the five-day moving average of cases has now fallen to 1,736.
Earlier today, there were 484 people with the virus in hospitals, including 73 in ICU.
Meanwhile, Downing Street says the reintroduction of coronavirus restrictions in England is not currently being considered - even though cases continue to rise.
'Plan B' would see mandatory face coverings reintroduced in some places, and the use of vaccine passports.
But the British Prime Minister's spokesman says that's not close, and that hospitalisations and deaths are not rapidly increasing.
