A Laois councillor says he was shocked to see the extent of overcrowding of asylum seekers in a Portarlington Hotel.
Sinn Fein's Aidan Mullins describes the conditions in the building as inhumane - with people forced to keep their belongings under their blanket in their bed.
It's understood around 40 asylum seekers are now living in the East End Hotel.
The Portarlington councillor says there's a serious lack of activities to integrate people into the community:
