Tullamore Regional Hospital is the worst affected.
1,499 people with Covid-19 were being treated in Irish hospitals last night.
It includes 126 patients in ICUs.
The busiest facility nationally was Cork University Hospital where there were 135 patients with the disease.
Figures from the HSE also show there were 126 people in ICU receiving treatment after contracting the virus.
Last night, there were 38 adult ICU beds vacant.
In the midlands,
The number of patients being treated for covid-19 has now risen to 52 - 25 in Tullamore Regional Hospital, 16 in Portlaoise, and 11 in Mullingar.
There are a further two suspected covid cases in Tullamore Hospital.
Eight covid patients are in intensive care - three each in Tullamore and Portlaoise Hospitals, and two in Mullingar.
There are currently four available ICU beds in the midlands - which are at Mullingar Regional Hospital.

Last night in county Fermanagh, off-duty staff at a hospital were called in to deal with the pressure caused by the number of people presenting with Covid-19.
The call was made by the Western Trust for the South West Acute Hospital.
