Criticism Of Bus Éireann's Plans To Scrap Portlaoise Service

One midlands TD says it should no longer be considered the national bus company if the cut goes ahead.

Bus Éireann should no longer be considered a national company if it scraps it's Dublin-Limerick route, which serves Portlaoise. 

That's according to Junior Minister in the Department of Finance Sean Fleming who is calling on government colleague, Transport Minister Eamon Ryan to intervene. 

The route which stops in Portlaoise eleven times a day, is due to be cut at the end of the month. 

The Fianna Fáil TD for Laois/Offaly says it's unacceptable:
