No further delays to re-letting council houses in Laois should be tolerated, according to a local councillor.
Sinn Féin's Caroline Dwane Stanley says there are currently 46 council homes lying vacant in the county, despite there being up to 2,000 people on the waiting list.
The Portlaoise rep says various reasons were given by the council for the delay - but now that extra funding has been provided by central government - the properties should be refurbished and re-let as a matter of urgency:
