Department Confirms Former Midlands Convent To Be Used To House Ukrainians

It's after a video appeared on social media claiming 50 single male asylum seekers were moving in.

The Department of Integration has confirmed that a former midlands convent will be used for those fleeing from the war in Ukraine. 

A video on social media claimed that up to 50 single male asylum seekers were due to move into the building in Kilcormac. 

In a statement to Midlands 103, Minister Roderic O Gorman's department says the site will be used by  Ukrainian families, primarily women and children. 

There's capacity to house 58 people there.
