Department Of Tourism Give €50,000 Towards Westmeath Projects

They'll tell the story behind the burning of Moydrum castle among others.

Fifty thousand euro will be spent in Westmeath to mark the Decade of Centenaries. 

The funding from the Department of Tourism, will support two historians and a creative practitioner in residence. 

The projects focus on the burning of Moydrum Castle and an online commemoration of the first Everest expedition, led by Westmeath's Howard Bury of Belvedere.
