Dependency On Drugs Turning Criminals Our Of Ordinary People

An addiction expert also says many people are losing their homes because of drugs.

Increasing dependency on illicit drugs is making career criminals out of ordinary people, according to an addiction expert.

The Health Research Board has discovered that cocaine is now the most common problem drug in Ireland, ahead of heroine.

Dr. Garrett McGovern, the Clinical Lead in HSE Addiction Services also believes crack cocaine users are turning to heroine to help manage the comedown off the former.

He says people are losing their homes to the drug trade:
