They were stopped by the county's Roads Policing Unit in Portlaoise town yesterday after both occupants in the front seats were travelling without seatbelts.
Officers also seized a van at a separate checkpoint in the county after a scan of the Garda Mobility App found it was without insurance.
Gardaí say court proceedings have commenced in both cases.
