Jill and Giles originally from the UK will be screened this May at the 2020 Vaughan International Film Festival.
The couple base themselves in Athlone during the winter months and travel the River Shannon during the summer months.
The short human piece will be shown at the Toronto Irish Film Festival and the Chicago Film Festival this weekend.
They have spent 20 years living and working on a barge the short explores their decision to live on the barge, their work and hobbies.
