Drop In Number Of New Cars Registered In The Midlands

There's a drop of 291 registrations in the last twelve months. 

There's been a 13% decrease in the number of new car registrations in the Midlands compared to March of last year. 

That's a drop of 291 registrations in the last twelve months. 

Westmeath is the hardest area hit, down over 17%, with sales slumping by 10% in Laois and 7% in Offaly. 

Nationally, purchases were down by 63 per cent over the same period.

Used car imports have also seen a sharp decline - they have almost halved.
