Education Minister Norma Foley made the announcement this morning.
Over €1.3m is being allocated by the Department of Education for works in 14 schools in the Midlands.
Five projects in Laois and Offaly and four in Westmeath will benefit from the funding.
Repairs in the Lake County will receive 946,000, €261,000 is going to Offaly and 156,000 in Laois.
31 million euro is being set aside for improvements to schools nationwide.
It's part of the 2021 Summer Works Scheme to fix problems like roofs, alarms and windows.
Upgrades of toilets will also be available through the initiative.
The five beneficiaries in Laois are:
Cill An Iubhair, Killanure, Mountrath;
Scoil Naisiunta Naomh Colmcille, Errill;
Scoil Bhride, Chapel Street, Clonaslee;
Mountmellick Boys National School, Davitt Road, Mountmellick;
St Paul’s National School, Irishtown, Mountmellick.
Westmeath:
Eoin Naofa National School, Mullingar;
Cornamaddy National School, Athlone;
Saint Mary's Co-Ed Primary School, Mullingar;
Presentation Convent Junior School, Mullingar.
Offaly:
High St. Mixed National School;
Daingean National School;
Shinchill National School;
St. Rynagh's National School;
Scoil Náisiúnta Bhride.
