€174,000 Allocated For Upkeep Of Midlands Swimming Pools During Pandemic

The 16 operators remain closed to the public under covid restrictions.

€174,000 is being allocated for the upkeep of swimming pools in the midlands during the pandemic.

It's coming from a stream of emergency payments from Sport Ireland, to help meet the costs while the facilities remain closed to the public under covid restrictions.

Almost €73,000 is going to six swimming pools in Laois; €55,000 for five centres in Offaly; while five operators are receiving a total of €46,000 in Westmeath.
