Eight people have been arrested in connection with the murder of an Offaly man in January.
Mark Loughlin was assaulted in Allenwood South in Co. Kildare in the early hours of Sunday January 3rd and was pronounced dead at Naas Hospital soon afterwards.
Gardai launched an operation this morning involving officers from the Kildare, Laois and Offaly divisions, and searched a number of premises, in relation to the murder and related offences.
They have arrested six men, one woman, and one teenage boy.
