The Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar has the second highest number of patients waiting on trolleys in the country.
Latest figures from the Irish Nurses' and Midwives' Organisation show seven were on trolleys there this morning, behind only St. Luke's General Hospital in Kilkenny, which had twelve.
There's also one person waiting on a bed in Portlaoise, bringing the total in the midlands region to eight.
Overall, 48 people are on trolleys in hospitals across Ireland this morning.
