Longford Westmeath TD Peter Burke is being asked to focus on investment for Laois.
The Tanaiste says he'll be asking the Enterprise Minister to bring the IDA to Laois in the near future.
It comes amid concerted calls for more attention from the State's foreign direct investment agency.
Last year figures were released showing the IDA had visited Westmeath 235 times in 10 years, but came to Laois and Offaly only 44 times each in the same time period.
Simon Harris says there should a focus on improving school places, road infrastructure and housing in Laois.
He expects Longford Westmeath TD, Minister Peter Burke to lead a renewed job creation focus in the county:
