EU Leaders are meeting in Mullingar this week.
Young people shouldn't need to move away from their home towns to Australia or even Dublin.
That's according to the Chair of the Irish Delegation to the European Committee of the Regions, Gillian Coughlan, with EU local and regional leaders gathering at the Mullingar Park Hotel as Ireland hosts the group.
The CoR’s discussions will focus on two key challenges, which include strengthening regional competitiveness, innovation and resilience, and creating conditions for people, especially young people, to stay and thrive in their communities.
