An Ireland South MEP says it will almost match the previous package.
The European Commission will today announce a multi-billion euro recovery plan from the Covid-19 pandemic.
President Ursula von der Leyen will outline the 500 billion euro package in the European Parliament in the afternoon.
Members states have already agreed a 540 billion euro package.
