The Decision Support Service is running the open information events today and tomorrow.
Open information events are being held in Laois today and tomorrow on how to create a Enduring Power of Attorney.
It lets a person allow an attorney to handle their financial or personal affairs if they lose decision-making capacity.
The Decision Support Service registers these applications, and they're holding the events in Portlaoise's Killeshin Hotel.
Tonight's event runs from 6pm until 7pm and goes through reforms to the Assisted Decision-Making Act 2015 and tools for advance planning.
While Wednesday's event is a "Helpdesk Day" running from 11:30 am until 5:30 pm - where DSS members will meet with the public to help with EPA applications.
Director of the DSS Aine Flynn says the service is about helping people plan for the future:
