It's part of the local authority's Biodiversity plan for the next half decade.
Offaly County Council is conducting an extensive survey of its lands to evaluate what natural habitats are under threat.
The work comes as part of their draft Biodiversity Action Plan for the next five years.
In the plan, the local authority will be aiming to examine the condition a various habitats, tackle invasive species and build awareness of the issues.
The council is commissioning a full county wetlands survey as well as ecological surveys.
