The HSE has confirmed another location has been chosen instead.
The Faithful Fields in Offaly will no longer be used as a covid vaccination centre.
The GAA grounds had been provisionally listed as a location for distributing vaccines.
However, the HSE has now confirmed the Tullamore Court Hotel will be used instead, following an evaluation of the cost, its availability, space and car parking and transport links.
That's in addition to the Bloomfield House Hotel in Mullingar, the Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise, and Athlone IT Convention Centre.
Work will now commence on setting up the centres for administering vaccines to the general population, which will come on stream as needed and once a dedicated workforce and available vaccine are secured.
