Almost 500 ESB customers in the midlands are without power this morning.

The worst affected areas are Edenderry and Lumcloon in Offaly, where 270 and 245 households respectively have no electricity.
The outages also affect 71 customers in Delvin, 81 in Castlecomer, and 49 in Clara.
ESB Networks says crews are working to repair faults, with power set to be restored between midday and 4 o'clock this evening.

Motorists are also advised to take extreme caution on the roads, with reports of fallen trees in places.
