Farmers Warn Dog Attacks Will Continue Without Tougher Enforcement

Farmers are calling for a national dog and owner database and stricter penalties for irresponsible owners.

Farmers say the devastation by dog attacks across the country will continue until the authorities get tough with owners.

They're calling for a national database to identify dogs and their owners and proper sanctions for dog owners who behave irresponsibly. 

The Irish Farmers' Association says it's a critical time of the year with lambing taking place, and the only way to tackle the scourge of dog attacks is by imposing the full rigours of the law.
