A new report shows the average cost of good quality land in the midlands is €12,719 per acre.
National farmland prices are forecast to rise by 8% on average this year.
That's according to the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland/Teagasc annual agricultural land market report.
The average cost of good quality land in the midlands is €12,719 per acre, while poor quality land will set you back €7,039.
Good quality land in Westmeath will cost you €13,300 on per acre, while poor quality land is €6,960.
In Laois, good quality land, per acre, costs €13,357, while poor quality land is the most expensive in the region, at €7,357.
Offaly boasts the best value for good land in the midlands, at €11,500 per acre, while poor land in the county costs €6,800, on average.
The most expensive land is in Kildare where good quality land is fetching an average of just over €15,000 per acre.
The cheapest is in Mayo where poor-quality land is selling for an average of €2,866 per acre.
